2026 Summer Info Packet VI

An intensive Summer Ahead!

First of all, a huge thank you to everyone who joined in Master Lü’s 70th birthday and the associations 25th anniversary! The warm atmosphere and the appreciation shown for Master Lü made the occasion truly special and brought joy to everyone.

The summer intensives will be led by Master Lü and held in the courtyard of Hertsikan ala-aste. The summer schedule is as follows:

The intensives will be held each day at 6 PM – 8 PM. The fee for a single intensive session is 25€. Alternatively, you can purchase a summer pass for 150€, which covers all intensives throughout the summer. Payment is made on site. No advance registration is required. A more detailed description of the intensives can be found on the intensives tab. The first intensive week (week 29) will be livestreamed. The fee for a single online intensive is 15€. Alternatively, you can purchase a whole week pass for 40€. Registration is required for the online intensives in order to receive the access link.

The summer season’s free outdoor training will continue on Wednesday evenings at the usual spot in Hesperia Park, by the wall of the old sugar factory. 

The autumn season begins on 31st August 2026. Feel free to let your friends know that we will celebrate the start of the season with open training evening. More information about the autumn season can be found on the schedule tab. The registration is open and we recommend registering early rather than waiting until the last minute.

Now setting our sights on autumn training!

The autumn season kicks off again, and your training schedule has been secured!

The autumn season runs from 1.9.-11.12.2025. A few practice venues have moved as follows:
– Mondays 8.9. – 6.10 (Chen Taiji and Tuishou): Kajaaninlinnantie 10  under the shelter behind the parking lot of Liikuntakeskus Puro
– All Wednesday lessons (Weapons, Baji, and Xingyi): Hillerikuja 4, at the Hillerikuja unit of Herttoniemen ala-aste 

Open training sessions continue outdoors until the start of the autumn season. We still train in Hesperian puisto on Wednesdays from 18:00 to 21:00 and sometimes on Monday evenings. On Sundays, open trainings take place in Itäkeskus from around noon. You can arrange open-practice sessions via the existing WhatsApp and Facebook groups.

The last intensive courses of the summer are held 18.–21.8. Each intensive lasts two hours (18:00–20:00) and costs 25€/session. Summer season-pass holders may attend. Venue is at Kajaaninlinnantie 10  under the shelter behind the parking lot of Liikuntakeskus Puro. The intensive themes follow the indoor season program:
– Monday: Chen Taiji and Tuishou
– Tuesday: Yang Taiji and Chen Taiji
– Wednesday: Weapons, Baji, and Xingyi
– Thursday: QiGong and Chen 24

Two Tuishou seminars takes place on Sunday 5th & 12th of October from 9:00 to 15:00 and 10:00 to 16:00 respectively at Arabian nuorisotalo. The days consists of theory and practice. Under Master Lü’s guidance, participants will practice Tuishou (push hands) techniques from understanding and internalizing the basics to discovering, controlling, and applying internal movement. Seminar fee is 60 €, both Sundays for 100€ (sign-up will open closer to the dates). Suitable for all levels, as content will be tailored to the participants.

Baji ry presents itself in Töölö on Saturday 6.9.2025, from 12:00 to 14:00 at the multicultural festival organized by Slurpsnäyttämö in Mika Waltarin puisto. City residents are offered a chance to tray the disciplines! Sign up via email: marja.kuisma[ a ]baji.info!

The autumn meeting and Christmas party take place on Saturday 13.12.2025. Venue will be announced later! We’re taking in suggestions (preferably Chinese food as this is master Lü’s preference).

Hi, summer and training continue!

Summer offers both training and fun! The first intensive week is approaching, and we’ll wrap it up with a summer picnic to catch up and enjoy each other’s company.

Free summer training sessions continue. You’ll find practitioners in Hesperia Park on Wednesdays from 6 PM to 9 PM, and occasionally also on Monday evenings. On Sundays, free training takes place in Itäkeskus starting around noon. Arrangements for free training can be made via the existing WhatsApp and Facebook groups.

The summer intensives
– July 14-17
– July 28-31
– August 18-21

The intensives cost 25 euros per lesson, or you can purchase the summer season pass for 150 euros which will allow you to participate in as many intensive lessons during the summer as you are like. The location is under a shelter behind the parking lot of Liikuntakeskus Puro at Kajaaninlinnantie 10.

The themes follow the indoor season program:
– Monday: Chen Taiji and Tuishou
– Tuesday: Yang Taiji and Chen Taiji
– Wednesday: Weapons, Baji, and Xingyi
– Thursday: QiGong and Chen 24

The summer barbeque will be held on Saturday, July 19. All members of the association are warmly welcome! The barbeque takes place in Talin siirtolapuutarha, Pitäjänmäentie 32 / Metsäpolku 32, 00370 Helsinki. Come hang out, enjoy some good food, and catch up with everyone!

2024 Summer Info Packet III

Hope the summer has treated you well!
Rumour has it Helsinki Day was a great success for our association – thank you kindly to all who attended!

Next week we will have our last free Wednesday evening training in Hesperia Park, and afterwards it’s time to hit the first intensive course week of the summer between the 15th of July to the 18th. The schedule for the first intensives are as follows:

Master Lü’s Fighting Principles (Baji, Xingyi & weapons)
Thursday 
Qigong & Chen 24

The intensives are between 18-20 o’clock at Itäkeskus peruskoulu at the address Kajaaninlinnantie 10, 00900 Helsinki.

The intensives cost 25 euros per lesson, or you can buy the summer season pass for 150 euros which will allow you to participate in all 12 intensive lessons during the summer.

The next intensive weeks will be Mon-Thu 29.7 – 1.8 & Mon-Thu 12.-15.8 with the same prices and schedule.

Should the weather allow, we will be arranging a picnic for our gongfu family on Saturday the 20th of July from 15:00 onwards in Lastenlehdon puisto ( Ruoholahdenkatu – Lapinrinne – Lapinlahdenkatu, 00180 Helsinki).

The park has nice even ground for some training, grass to sit on, trees to take shade under, and some fun playgrounds for kids to enjoy, should you take your family with you! The event itself will be free, but we do expect you to bring your own food & drinks. Should you run out of something, there are plenty of restaurants and shops around for potential refills.
