In summer 2026, the intensives will be held <strong>outdoors at Hertsikan ala\u2011aste <\/strong><em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/UcDj7kHVS1aUeB9Y9\">Hillerikuja 4, 00800 Helsinki<\/a>)<\/em>. <br>The price is <strong>25\u20ac per intensive<\/strong>, or you can join <strong>all sessions with a summer pass for 150\u20ac<\/strong>. Payments are made on-site; we accept cash, card payments, and (digital) exercise benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The results of the 2026 vote are in \u2014 and the themes are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Week 29<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Mon 13 July \u2013 <\/strong>Taiji: Tuishou<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuishou, or <em>push hands<\/em>, is partner training in Taiji where you explore balance, body control, and sensitivity to another person\u2019s movement. Together with your partner, you learn where your root truly is and how to move someone without pushing with force \u2014 lightly, softly, yet effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tue 14 July \u2013 Master L\u00fc\u2019s Fighting Principles: Footwork<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Master L\u00fc\u2019s fighting principles are legendary, and footwork is one of their foundations. This intensive focuses on rooting, step length, and positioning \u2014 how to place yourself so that the situation is already decided before the first strike is thrown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Wed 15 July \u2013 Baji: Liu Da Kai<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Liu Da Kai consists of six key Baji movements used to open an opponent\u2019s guard and take control of the encounter. The training develops timing, the seamless blending of offense and defense, and the ability to recognize openings before they even appear. This is Baji at its best: simple, direct, and powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Thu 16 July \u2013 Taiji: Master Wei\u2019s Secrets<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of Master L\u00fc\u2019s most influential teachers was Wei Shuren, known for his exceptional understanding of Taiji and its application in Tuishou. In this session, Master L\u00fc shares Wei\u2019s teachings and insights \u2014 the kind you won\u2019t find in books. Master Wei was especially known for his ability to guide movement with the mind.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Week 31<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Mon 27 July \u2013 Master L\u00fc\u2019s Fighting Principles: Qinna<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Qinna is high-level control work in Chinese martial arts: gripping, joint manipulation, and structural control. Under Master L\u00fc\u2019s guidance, you learn how to guide an opponent into a position where you have complete control \u2014 soft in touch, firm in intention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tue 28 July \u2013 Taiji Lecture: Discussing Wang Zhongyue\u2019s Taiji Classic<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Wang Zhongyue\u2019s <em>Taiji Classic<\/em> is one of the most important texts in Taiji, blending Taoist philosophy with the art\u2019s core principles. Master L\u00fc explains how Taiji arises from the boundless stillness of Wuji, how Yin and Yang separate in movement and reunite in stillness. Through these ideas, Taiji becomes more than a sequence of movements \u2014 it becomes a way to understand the body, the mind, and the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Wed 29 July \u2013 XingYi: Five Animals<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>XingYi means <em>form and intent<\/em>, and the Five Animals sets you explore the art\u2019s five elements through the qualities of five different animals. The training strengthens clear body structure and sharpens the mind toward direct, decisive martial movement \u2014 simple yet powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Thu 30 July \u2013 Qigong<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Qigong is an ancient Chinese health practice combining soft movement, breathing, and focused awareness. Its aim is to balance the body\u2019s energy, support overall health, and bring calmness to the mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>Week 33<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Mon 10 August \u2013 Master L\u00fc\u2019s Fighting Principles: Takedowns and Throws<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This intensive focuses on takedowns \u2014 how to break an opponent\u2019s balance with subtle shifts in angle and direction. Master L\u00fc teaches how to guide someone safely and cleanly to the ground using clear principles, drawing on decades of experience, including his background in Beijing wrestling (<em>shuai jiao<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tue 11 August \u2013 Baji: Jingang Bashi<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Jingang Bashi consists of eight fundamental Baji routines that form the backbone of the style. Practicing the movements on both sides develops strong rooting, clear structure, and the explosive power characteristic of Baji \u2014 simple and highly rewarding training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Wed 12 August \u2013 Weapons<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our club\u2019s ever-popular weapons training gets its own spotlight. You can try everything from the Biangun whip\u2011staff and the Dao saber to the Jian straight sword, or even the ambitious three\u2011meter spear \u2014 or focus on your personal favorite. This session is the perfect chance to unleash your inner child and enjoy the pure joy of movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Thu 13 August \u2013 Taiji: Chen 24<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-b8791077-398a-4431-81d2-0e346a381ca1\">We close the summer with the Chen\u2011style 24\u2011movement form, often recommended as the best starting point for learning Taiji.
