Weekend courses in May 2010

Qigong Sat 15.5.2010 at 10-16

Qigong refers to a family of traditional Chinese exercises aiming at balancing and regulating the qi-energy in the human body based on the use of the mind, breathing and different physical movements.
This course is based on practical training of exercises mostly from Taiji Qigong but also from other sources. No previous experience of qigong is required.

Shuai jiao su 16.5.2010 klo 10-16

Shuai Jiao (fast wrestling) is one of the four basic fighting skills (punching, kicking, throwing, locking/controlling). All Chinese martial arts contain Shuai Jiao. Traditionally Shuai is not used as such but in combination with punches and kicks.
This course is open for everybody regardless of previous martial art experience. No special equipment (such as a judogi) is needed. The purpose is to learn to control the opponent in a way typical to Shuai Jiao, without the advantage of grabbing the opponent's clothing. Indoor shoes are recommended.

Both courses are taught by Lü Baochun.

There is a one hour lunch break on both days.

Place: Elias School, Ehrensvärdintie 31-35, Helsinki.

Equipment: T-shirt and workout pants. Indoor shoes (recommended), socks or bare feet.

Price: 30 € / day. Introductory price: Both days for 50€. The course price includes association membership for one year (mandatory). The payments can be made to the association's bank account Handelsbanken 313130-2425577 or in cash at the venue.
