Warnings: The disk is a home-made double layer DVD, which may not work in older DVD players or computers. As the Tuishou lecture was filmed at the noisy circumstances of the Taiji & Qigong Day the sound quality is not excellent but sufficient.
More exceptions to teaching in December
Sadly we are forced to announce more cancellations to teaching in December. It turns out that some of the schools we use are closing much earlier than earlier years. Unfortunately we have not received information about these cancellations earlier and hence they come again as surprises. We are sincerely sorry for this, as our members will most likely miss several lessons they have paid for. We will try our best to organise some compensatory teaching but it may happen that we won't be able to provide anything during the end of the year. In the future we will look into renting a stable training place for our association but that will naturally also mean an increase in course prices, should it succeed. The cancellations during December are only in the public schools, teaching in other premises will proceed as announced earlier. Again, our deepest apologies for this mess. Here are the changes:
* The last lesson for the Friday evening Taiji classes at Aleksis Kivi school will be on December 9.
* The last lesson for the Thursday evening Baji classes at Töölö elementary school will be on December 8.
* There will be no more classes on Mondays and Tuesdays at Zacharias Topeliusskolan this year.
Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Demonstration 2011
On the 11th of December at 12:00-15:00 we will once again organize an opportunity to learn more about Chinese culture. For the third time, Baji Association is arranging a display of traditional Chinese martial arts in Helsinki at the German School located in Kamppi.
Baji Association was founded exactly 10 years ago when Master Lü Baochun arrived in Finland to teach taiji and baji. Master Lü is the main teacher in Baji Association and the heart of our entire association. All those who have trained under him have had the privilege of experiencing the mentality of Chinese arts and the true meaning of Gong Fu.
In our Ten Year Anniversary Celebration Event we will again be giving all interested parties an opportunity to try all the arts taught at Baji ry. These include Taijiquan, Bajiquan, Qigong, Xingyiquan and Baguazhang. We will also be displaying videos and pictures from throughout the association's history and in memory of our dearly departed former teacher, Jorma Tuhkanen.
Complementary snacks and Chinese tea will be served. The event is free of charge, welcome!

Our friend Jorma Tuhkanen was laid to rest on Saturday, August 27, 2011. We wish to honor his memory by publishing here some thoughts written by him. These are his original words in Finnish and we shall not translate them.

Jorma Tuhkanen's Funeral
The funeral of our dear friend Jorma Tuhkanen will take place on Saturday August 27th at 13:00 at the eastern chapel of Malmi cemetery. The address is Malmin kalmistotie. There will be a memorial after the burial at the Memori hall outside the cemetery at Pihlajamäentie 30. All members of the Baji Association are welcome to bid him farewell. In order to be able to estimate the number of participants, we kindly ask those who intend to participate to contact Liisa Juvakoski at 041-5238877. Please register to Liisa right away so that the arrangements for the memorial can be made.
We have received shocking news from our members' trip to Tibet. Our longtime friend and beloved Taiji teacher Jorma Tuhkanen has passed away in Lhasa, Tibet on June 10, 2011. He was one of the most experienced and active Taiji players in our association and openly shared his experience with others. He had a key role in building Baji association. His open, positive attitude and peculiar sense of humor will be missed by many. His passing comes as a total shock and surprise and we feel he left us way too early. We express our sincere condolences to his loved ones.
